Brent Kilmer - Owner

Brent is a lifelong car lover and has been in the automobile business 23 years. Prior to Velocity Motors, Brent worked at Harvey Lexus in Grand Rapids in Pre Owned Sales. Opening Velocity Motors has been a lifelong dream and Brent is responsible for acquiring inventory, marketing and managing sales and finance. Brent is married to Karen and they have 5 children; Lauryn, Tyler, Noelle, Marshall and Gabriel. They live in Wyoming and their children attend Jenison and Caledonia Schools.

Gene DeJong - Owner

Gene and Brent have been close friends for 15 years and started Velocity Motors together.  Gene has been a lifelong entrepreneur and was also the founding Pastor of Keystone Church in Ada.  Gene and his wife Sharon live in Ada and are the parents to 5 grown children; Jenna, Dustin, Barry, Nick and Adrienne.

Jerome Gorman - Customer Service Representative

Jerome is the voice you'll most often hear when you call Velocity Motors.  He is responsible for many things like answering customer phone calls, cashing out service customers, calling customers to follow up and keeping our facility looking top notch.  We receive great feedback from our customers that Jerome is friendly and a pleasure to deal with.  Outside of work Jerome is a master of board games and loves movies!

Brandy Kennell - Service Manager

Brandy manages our service department and is responsible for scheduling service as well as going over estimates with our service customers.  She graduated from Hastings High School and still lives in Hastings. Before working at Velocity, she was a service advisor at the local Volkswagen dealer.  In her free time you'll find Brandy driving one of her two VW GTI's, spending time with a variety of pets including a gecko or hanging out with friends and family.

Jon VanOyen - Technician

Jon VanOyen is our lead technician and has been with Velocity from our first day in Caledonia.  Jon's father, Mike built our building in 2001 and operated VanOyen Auto Sales and Service for 14 years before selling to Velocity Motors.  Jon is a Certified Technician and is a tremendous asset to our business and our shop.  Outside of work, Jon is married to Jenna who is a local music teacher.  Jon also plays lead guitar at Encounter Church in Kentwood and has a talent for photography and cooking.  

Johnny Sipple - Technician

Johnny has been with Velocity since March of 2018 and has been a very welcome addition.  He is a very skilled, thorough technician and a pleasure to work with.  Johnny lives in Grand Rapids with his wife Ali and their dogs, Lucy and Layla and when the snow flies he loves snowmobiling. 

Randy DeBoer - Technician

Randy is our most experienced technician and is a huge asset to our team.  Randy has worked on cars professionally for over 40 years and has achieved ASE master certification.  He excels at engine and run-ability issues and has been known to build a race car or two in his spare time.  He loves riding Harley Davidsons of which he has two.  He loves them so much he even named his dog "Harley."
